Paving the Way for Responsible Business Conduct in the Decade of Action: A series of five webinars.

The Global Compact Network Canada is pleased to invite you to the Paving the Way for Responsible Business Conduct in the Decade of Action webinar series. By registering for this 5-part webinar series, you will be able to explore how can Canadian businesses employ the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact to realign their commitments, goals and accelerate progress for responsible business conduct in the Decade of Action.

The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact help businesses embrace, support and build sustainability into their core strategic and operational functions and their spheres of influence.

With COVID-19 into its second year, businesses now more than ever need to strengthen their commitments towards the Ten Principles under these four pillars: Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption which will help ensure a strong economic recovery.

Session 1 – The 4th Industrial Revolution and Human Rights: Doing Business Responsibly in the New Era

Date: April 15, 2021

Time: 1pm – 2pm EDT

This session aims to discuss the evolving considerations for human rights for businesses in today’s world and how businesses can future-proof human rights due diligence.

Session 3 – Refocusing the Decade of Delivery: How Businesses Can Drive Ambitious Corporate Climate Action

This session aims to discuss how Canadian companies have leveraged sustainable business models and practices to define challenges, implement solutions and measure outcomes to further drive accelerated corporate climate action.

Session 4 – Building Resilience: The Evolving Role of Corporate Governance

Date: July 8, 2021

Time: 1pm – 2pm EDT

This session aims to discuss how companies are re-evaluating the way of doing business and their priority considerations regarding risk management and resilience.

Session 5 – Canada and Beyond: A Principles-Based Approach to Building Back Better

Date: August 12, 2021

Time: 1pm – 2pm EDT

This session aims to explore how the Government of Canada is addressing human rights, labour rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption and what are the broader implications of Canada’s international efforts to promote the principles of sustainable development in the Decade of Action.
