Associate Professor, Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein College of Medicine Dept. of Otorhinolaryngology-Head /Neck Surgery and Dept. of Pathology
The purpose of this course is to provide the attendee with a multidisciplinary management approach for patients with skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, melanoma and, other complex skin cancers. The topics will focus on advances in epidemiology, pathology, imaging, medical and surgical management and, radiation therapy—examination of complex skin cancer cases in a tumor board-style discussion with a multidisciplinary panel of experts.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is designed for attending physicians, resident physicians, physician assistants, nurses, medical students and researchers.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusions of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Describe melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer and biologic behavior
2. Define factors contributing to behavior and outcome of skin cancers
3. Debate characteristics of skin cancers that require aggressive treatment
