Briefing on co-benefit actions in Mongolia to mitigate climate change impact.

The synergy of actions for adaptation to climate change based on indigenous knowledge and modern know-how: Presentations will introduce: The findings of local development policy research and climate adaptation planning activities conducted jointly by the researchers from urban and rural public and private entities and local community representatives based on spatial variability and temporal dynamics of climate, natural resources and ecosystems services; Innovation and technology that bridges between science and industry, as well as for public and private sectors for better respond to climate change. “e-Mongolia” system initiated and launched by Mongolia government provides various public services including references, submission of requests to the government agencies, tracking of various application processes, and enables active participation of citizens in national and local development policies, plans and implementations without limitation of geography, locations, and time

Expected outcomes

Sharing Mongolia’s national and local good practices, achievements and lessons learnt from scientific and policy research and development, and well synergy of actions and nationwide campaign for adaptation towards a nature-based solution and ecosystem-based adaptation based on the traditional way of life, and modern know-how;

– Learning from international good practices, innovative approaches and networking for regional and global collaboration for sustainable and climate-resilient development.
