Aaron Michel – Partner at 1984 Ventures

Aaron is a partner at 1984 Ventures, a seed stage venture capital firm in San Francisco. Prior to that he founded PathSource, a venture-backed startup that rose to be the top career app in the Apple App Store and was acquired in 2017. He sits on the executive committee of San Francisco’s workforce investment board. Named an Innovation Rockstar by the Boston Business Journal, Aaron has written for Entrepreneur Magazine, Fast Company and a range of business outlets. He graduated from Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Amit Sridharan – Founding General Partner at First Rays Venture Partners

Amit is a Founding General Partner at First Rays Venture Partners. ‘First Rays’ specializes in seed stage investments in Enterprise B2B software themes around AI, Cloud, Edge, Data, Distributed & Security. He has led over 10 investments from First Rays Venture Partners that includes, & Kleeen Software amongst others. Amit was previously the Director of US Investments & Partnerships at Mahindra Partners Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital of Mahindra Group. He has had stints at Pear VC and Spruce Capital Partners. His portfolio included investments in Avaamo (Board Observer), Cloudleaf, Scoot (Acquired by Bird), Paid Labs (Acquired by Auction Mobility) and Pear Technology (Acquired by Avinew), amongst others.

He has over 17 years in early stage venture investments across diverse areas ranging from cloud-native technologies, enterprise security, IoT, DevOps, smart manufacturing, robotics, mobility and clean-tech. Amit has also pioneered industry leading research out of Stanford University on Corporate Venture Capital. In 2019, he was named as one of the Top 100 corporate venture capital professionals by Global Corporate Venturing. Amit has a Management degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he graduated as the Robert Joss Scholar.

Amit works closely with entrepreneurs and teams in portfolio companies to drive growth. His passion for venture investing in early stage companies is driven by the three aspects –

1) People – backing the founder’s vision in building businesses from fundamentals

David Mandel – Managing Partner at Emerging Ventures

Prior to his current career in venture capital, Mr. Mandel built, operated and exited 4 different successful businesses in the Insurance and Finance industries over a 28-year period; including growing Alliance United Insurance Company to over $450MM in annual premium and over 500 employees, before selling to Kemper Corp (KMPR) in 2015.

In addition to being a serial entrepreneur, Mr. Mandel is also a life-long investor, and technology enthusiast. He invested in over 500 early-stage startups to-date, and is now generally regarded as a thought-leader in the field.

Dylan Itzikowitz – Investor at Expa (started by the founder of Uber)

Dylan Itzikowitz is an investor at Expa, where he works to identify and support talented founders for Expa’s pre-seed investments. Expa is an early stage venture fund started by Garrett Camp (founder of Uber & StumbleUpon), to help founders take companies from ideas to scale. With a background in investing, Dylan previously led media and travel investments at Founders Factory in London, in partnership with the Guardian & easyJet respectively. Dylan is also the founder of, The Forward Movement, a social enterprise that promotes accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities.
