Event Description
Peter Martin is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder working on the history of when New Guinea formed. He has a PhD from Caltech, where his research involved using data from the Curiosity rover to measure the age of rocks on Mars. Peter is most interested in geologic time and how we can reconstruct events that happened millions or even billions of years ago. In his research, Peter uses tools that let us measure the age of rocks and uses that information to understand how the environment and climate on both Earth and Mars have changed since the solar system first formed.
