Welcome to our 3rd O365/M365 Developer bootcamp. Seats are first come first serve basis as we only have ~70 seats at the desks.
This is a hands-on, developer focused event that involves learning M365 Development. Each developer must sign up for a Office 365 Developer Site and bring a computer to learn extended Office 365 via the SharePoint Framework [SPFx]

- 9:30am – 10:30am – Session 1 – Setting up Tenant / Environment
This session will go through the steps of setting up a suitable environment for M365 Developement. It is recommended that you perform the steps above in orange at home or at least try. We will use this time slot to make sure that everyone can move forward to building an SPFx webpart.
- 10:45am – 12:00pm – Session 2 – Building your first web part, talking to SharePoint via REST & PnP-JS
This session will walk you through the process of building your first SPFx webpart from scaffolding the project to deployment to the app catalog. It will discuss the tech stack involved, how to utilize the workbenches [local/hosted], retrieving data from SharePoint via REST and last but not least communicating to SharePoint using the PnP-JS library.
- 12:00pm – 1:00pm – Lunch – Networking / Q&A
Subway box lunch will be provided by Microsoft. During this time we can answer any questions that you might have from the previous sessions or help you catch up if you encountered an issue. Lunch is also a great time to network with your peers.
- 1:00pm – 2:15pm – Session 2 – Intro to React web parts & Office UI Fabric
This session will start over with a new webpart using the React framework. The goal of this exercise will be to create a feedback webpart that sends messages to a SharePoint list. We’ll be adding a variety of UI components by leveraging the Office UI Fabric React component libary.
- 2:30pm- 3:15pm – Session 3 – Building SPFx webparts for Teams Tabs
This session will demonstrate how you can take the same SPFx webpart from the previous lesson and package it for a Teams Tab. You’ll learn the differences between SharePoint & Teams development along with how this are delivered uniquely for Teams use.

About Global M365 Developer Bootcamp
We are excited to kick off our 3rd annual developer bootcamp, and even more excited this year it will be Global Microsoft 365 Developer Bootcamp, incorporating the technologies and products that are now included in the Microsoft 365 platform.
