May 11, 2021

May 11, 2021

12:30 PM To 2:30 PM

Online: BST (UK)

Event Description

This event is aimed at introducing potential members, new members, and new employees of member companies, to the work of ABHI.

The COVID-19 crisis has powerfully demonstrated the importance of the HealthTech sector, both to patients, and to the economy of the UK. As the NHS seeks to learn from the pandemic, and the rapid changes that have been made in healthcare delivery, HealthTech will be key to ensuring the future health and prosperity of our country. Against the backdrop of Brexit, and significant changes to the regulatory landscape, ensuring a strong voice for the industry has never been more important. In this ABHI seminar, we will detail how you can ensure your voice is heard through membership of the UK’s leading HealthTech association.

The event will provide attendees with information on the current critical issues relevant to the industry and ABHI’s workstreams, including regulation (both medical devices and IVDs), innovation adoption, NHS change and UK SME growth.

This event is free to attend, however attendance isrestricted to representatives from companies with a health technology related interest.

Association of British HealthTech Industries

About the Organizers

ABHI is the UK’s leading industry association for health technology (HealthTech). ABHI supports the HealthTech community to save and enhance lives. Members, including both multinationals and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), supply products from syringes and wound dressings to surgical robots and digitally enhanced technologies. We represent the industry to stakeholders, such as the government, NHS and regulators. HealthTech plays a key role in supporting delivery of healthcare and is a significant contributor to the UK’s economic growth. HealthTech is now the largest employer in the broader Life Sciences sector, employing 131,800 people in 4,060 companies, with a combined turnover of £25.6bn. The industry has enjoyed growth of around 5% in recent years. ABHI’s 300 members account for approximately 80% of the sector by value.
