Forum on Chinese Venture Investing in the U.S.
Mike Rothenberg is the founder and CEO of Rothenberg Ventures. Rothenberg Ventures’ mission is to create the world’s best early stage investment vehicle focused on Millennials, who are creating an increasing percentage of the world’s most valuable and innovative companies. Rothenberg Ventures combines an innovative approach to identifying and supporting Millennial founders with an old-school VC return style built on the power law.
As an entrepreneur, Mike founded and boot-strapped four companies including River Studios, a pioneer in VR experiences from ideation and creation to financing, post-production, and fulfillment. River Studios collaborated with Rothenberg Ventures to launch the River Accelerator, the world’s first dedicated VR and AR accelerator program which has invested in startups from six continents.
Prior to Rothenberg Ventures, Mike invested at Audax Private Equity, consulted at Bain & Company, and coordinated Stanford’s Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders program. From 2005-07, Mike’s ETL team identified, invited, and hosted speakers Mark Zuckerberg, Marissa Mayer, Reid Hoffman, Evan Williams, and Tony Fadell. In his spare time, Mike enjoys raising awareness and building support for education, technology, and underdogs everywhere, primarily through building empathetic virtual reality experiences and public speaking. Mike is a graduate of the Stanford School of Engineering (B.S. 2006 and M.S. 2007) and Harvard Business School (MBA 2013).
