David Drake is the founder and Chairman of LDJ Capital in NYC and has been involved in technology media and telecom (TMT), realty, mineral & energy, clean tech and impact investments for over 20 years. Mr. Drake is also the founder of The Soho Loft (TSL) Media Group – The Voice of Capital Formation. It consists of divisions reaching millions in Publishing, Events and Investor Relations. He writes regularly for WSJ, Forbes, Thomson Reuters, Hedgeco and 100+ other entrepreneurial and financial publications. The aim is to advise and educate investors in private equity, hedge funds, crowdfunding, Sovereign Wealth Funds, fund-of-funds, angel networks, venture capital and family offices.
Mr. Drake works to bring part of the JOBS Act to the EU Commission. May 2013 he was invited to the White House for the Champion of Change ceremony. He was a U.S. Commerce delegate to Brussels and Rome in its meetings with Ministers and legislators at the Transatlantic Economic Council forum addressing 28 million European SMEs July 2012. He is a founding board member of CrowdFund Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CFIRA) and the Association (CFPA). He presents regularly as an expert on the JOBS & Dodd-Frank Act and recently presented at the Harvard Alumni LA panel and hosted 3 conferences with Thomson Reuters in Boston with speakers like KKR & Carlyle.
For charity, Mr. Drake hosted the Harvard Club and Boston Symphony performances at his home and sat on the advisory board of Best Buddies Charity for autistic kids.
He has an MBA in Finance and an MA in International Law and Economics from George Washington University where he was awarded the Wallenberg Scholarship for academic merit.
