March NY FinTech Meetup: Panel – Social Good in FinTech
Having lived and studied in several countries throughout her life, Andra Tomsa has always regarded herself as a citizen of the world. Armed with first-hand knowledge of the economic inequalities in communities all over the world, Tomsa attained a Master’s Degree in Development Economics. She has since decided to dedicate her life’s work to the alleviation of poverty and inequality in the world starting with her immediate community in New York City. While pursuing her studies, Tomsa interned for UNICEF, and attended the 61st annual St. Gallen Symposium as a “Leader of Tomorrow”. She graduated from her Master’s Program at Fordham University in December of 2011 and has since built her own company SPARE, a fundraising vehicle with the objective to potentially drive awareness for global change one individual at a time. SPARE has since graduated from a print marketing campaign to a smartphone APP. In July 2014 SPARE welcomed a co-founder in Rameet Chawal, Founder of Fueled, a mobile design and development company based in New York, London, and Chicago. Fueled produces award winning apps and websites for startups like QuizUp to big brands like Barneys. Since then, Ellie Libby formerly of City Harvest and Anna Rothschild, a PR and Marketing maven, have joined the cause. SPARE has been covered by numerous press outlets, including NY1, The Daily News, and Ellen Degeneres Good News Blog.
