Amanda Tolleson is VP, Brand Marketing & Strategy at Birchbox, a leading beauty and grooming retailer that offers an efficient, personalized way to discover and shop for new products. Founded in 2010, Birchbox redefined the beauty shopping experience by pairing a monthly subscription of deluxe samples – tailored to customers’ unique profiles – with inspiring content to create a seamless path to purchase full-size products online.
Amanda spearheads strategic brand positioning, including customer insights efforts and offline brand marketing. She led market segmentation research to build a robust understanding of our target customer, the findings of which are actively used to shape the Birchbox brand and grow the business. She also played a key role in launching Birchbox’s first major brand campaign and continues to oversee traditional mass media programs, including the development of two new TV spots in 2015.
Prior to joining Birchbox in early 2014, Amanda served as a strategic brand consultant at several firms, including Prophet Brand Strategy, Insight Strategy Group and BrightHouse. Amanda holds an MBA from Harvard and a BA in Psychology from Stanford.
